The 3 finalists in the ‘Inclusion’ category of the #BeActive EU Sports Awards are outstanding examples of how sport activities can help tackle social challenges by promoting social inclusion, gender equality, diversity and unity. Their initiatives remind us that everyone should feel welcome and enjoy the benefits of being active.

Département des Yvelines, France

The Yvelines Parasport programme enables everyone, with or without a disability, to find their place in sport.

Through parasport activities, the organisation raises awareness about disability while breaking down barriers.

My favourite way to be active is encouraging people to go beyond their limits and abilities, and to develop a positive view of themselves.

The Breaking Barriers Through MOVEment (B-MOVE) initiative creates equal opportunities through sport for children with special educational needs.

The organisation sees physical activity as both a right and a tool for inclusion and empowerment, especially for children with disabilities.

The inPlaninec initiative makes mountain hiking accessible to people with disabilities and special needs.

The organisation believes that, in a way, everyone faces personal mountains to climb. By helping people facing a different level of challenge to reach real mountain peaks, they send a powerful message of inclusion and a shared sense of achievement.

#BeActive EU Sport Awards Ceremony

The European Commission will announce winners and hand out the awards on 23 June 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.
