2020 #BeActive winners!
The #BeActive Awards competition is a central part of our annual European Week of Sport. It supports projects and individuals dedicated to the promotion of sport and physical activity across Europe.
The 2020 #BeActive winners were announced during the #BeActive awards commemoration on 8 December

Winner - Education Award 2020
Walking around the world from Croatia Juraj Horžić, a gym teacher at Petra Preradovica, found a new challenge to motivate children to be active at a time when most of the usual sporting facilities were closed.

A triathlete, entrepreneur and philanthropist Tomáš Slavata, from the Czech Republic, tours the country’s 165 orphanages, performing demonstrations for children and encouraging them to be sporty.

The BeActive awards focus on building communities’ capacity to increase their physical activity. They are a celebration of extraordinary people, projects and individuals that support the mission statement of the European Week of Sport: for everyone to be and stay active.

About the awards
The awards competition is open for entries until 24 July 2021 (5pm Brussels local time). Find out more about the #BeActive awards and how to take part by downloading the information leaflet. Applications must be forwarded by the National Coordinating Bodies (NCBs) or Partners of the European Week of Sport.

Winner - Workplace Award 2020
Denmark's House of Code allows employees to dedicate two hours of their working week to physical activity, earning them the 2020 #BeActive Workplace Award.
