2020 #BeActive Awards winners announced

The 2020 #BeActive winners have now been announced

The 2020 #BeActive winners have now been announced - each taking home €10 000 for their excellent work encouraging sport in their communities.

The European Commission #BeActive Awards support projects and individuals dedicated to the promotion of sport and physical activity across Europe.

The 2020 winners are

  • Category #BeActive Education: Petra Preradovica, Primary School, Croatia
  • Category #BeActive Workplace: House of Code, Denmark
  • Category #BeActive Local Hero Award: Tomas Slavata, Czech Republic

Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, announced the three winners at a special online awards ceremony on 8 December. Tomasz Frankowski, Member of the European Parliament and Co-chair of the Sports Group, was also present at this edition.

The finalists' wonderful work was also recognised at the event -each finalist was awarded €2 500!

Congratulations to all the projects that participated in the 2020 #BeActive awards!

Projects such as these continue to support the mission statement of the European Week of Sport: to stay fit all year long.
