2020 #Beinclusive EU Sports Awards winners announced

The European Commission #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards recognise organisations using the power of sport to increase social inclusion for disadvantaged groups.

The 2020 winners are

  • Ovale citoyen, Ovale citoyen (France)
  • Integrative Championship - INclude and INtegrate!, Akademicki Zwiazek Sportowy Zarzad Glowny (Poland)
  • Surf.ART - Atreve-te | Realiza-te |Transforma-te, Pressley Ridge - Associação de Solidariedade Social (Portugal)

Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, announced the three winners at a special online awards ceremony on 1st December. The event included testimonies of projects awarded in previous editions.

The 2020 #Beinclusive finalists are

  • CU FITTER, Cancer United (United Kingdom)
  • U on Board, Stichting Hogeschool Utrecht (Netherlands)
  • Integrated Karate for all!, Geintegreerd Karate Voor Mensen Met Een Beperking (Belgium)
  • OMBOLD, Ombold (Denmark)
  • RUNChallenge, PlayMore! Societa' Sportiva Dilettantistica S.R.L (Italy)
  • Mehr ist möglich! – Teach For Austria- Alumni, Vienna Hobby Lobby (Austria)

The finalists' wonderful work was also recognised at the event - each finalist was awarded €2 500!

Congratulations to all the projects that participated in the 2020 #BeInclusive awards! Projects such as these drive inclusion in sport, and act as an inspiration to us all.
