#BeInclusive EU Sport Awards 2023: finalists announced!

88 inspiring projects were part of the 2023 edition of the competition.

The #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards rewards and showcases remarkable projects that promote social inclusion using the power of sport. 

9 finalists in three categories will compete for the grand prize which is delivered in 2024.

Breaking barriers in sport 

This category features projects that provide inspiration, giving positive examples of empowerment and role models from groups with fewer opportunities. 

The finalists are

  • Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Balon Mundial Onlus (Italy): More Than Just a Game: NewFivə Promotes Sport, Wellness, and Equality for Women and Non-Binary People
  • Olympic Urban Festival (Belgium): Urban Youth Games - The biggest inclusive programme for youth 
  • Monikansallisten naisten hyvinvointi ja liikunta ry (Finland): SwimPower- Empowering migrant women by promoting their participation in swimming

Promoting gender equality in sport “Be Equal”

This category rewards projects promoting the empowerment and participation of women and girls in sport.

The finalists are

  • Danmarks Idrætsforbund (Denmark): DIF get2sport
  • Verein für Fraueninteressen e.V. (Germany): JUNO - a voice for refugee women: move + meet (integration through sport)
  • Ženski Nogometni Klub Osijek (Croatia): Princesses in Cleats

Sport for peace 

This category showcases projects using sport as a vehicle to promote peace and European values.

The finalists are

  • Sport et Citoyenneté (France): Sport and Refugees: a challenge for European youth!
  • Faino (Denmark): Sports Faino Festival
  • Champions Factory (Bulgaria): Together4Ukraine
#BeInclusive EU Sport Awards ceremony 

Commissioner Iliana Ivanova will announce the winner of each category during the #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards Ceremony, which will take place on 16 April 2024 in Liège, Belgium, as part of the EU Sport Forum 2024.
