The mission

Of the European Week of Sport (EWOS) partner EuropeActive is to fight against inactivity. Its vision is to be the leading voice in the fitness and physical activity sector in Europe. To do that, the non-profit EuropeActive helps educate people on the benefits of living active and healthy lifestyles.

Thousands of free events

During the European Week Of Sport from 23-30 September, EuropeActive and its partner organisations will promote thousands of free events and activities. These will take place in locations such as sport centres, parks, schools and workplaces. The activities will last from a few minutes to over an hour or more because every minute counts with #BeActive.

The EuropeActive organisation promotes learning, networking and sharing of good practices which motivate people to lead active lifestyles. Their motto of “more people, more active, more often” aligns with the core message of the European Week Of Sport, making it the ideal partner to the #BeActive Day campaign.

Strengthens #BeActive Message

EuropeActive and its partners further strengthen the #BeActive message, bringing people together to celebrate the fun of physical activity and helping people to become more active and lead a healthier life.

The European Week of Sport will also feature the return of the National Fitness Day for Europe. In this campaign, non-EU countries like Georgia, Ukraine, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina will organise a National Fitness Day campaign in their own countries, similar to the #BeActive day.

In 2020, campaign Ambassador George Xiros, fitness coach, represented EuropeActive by leading a digital workout on the European Commission social media channels, collaborating with seven Olympic athletes from different European capitals.
