#BeInclusive EU Sport Awards 2024: finalists announced!

A total of 101 inspiring projects were part of the 2024 edition of the awards.

The #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards rewards and showcases remarkable projects that use the power of sport to promote social inclusion.

An expert jury selected 9 finalists to compete for the grand prize in 3 categories

  • Breaking barriers in sport
  • Be Equal promoting gender equality in sport
  • Sport for peace

Each winner will receive €10,000, while runners-up will receive €2,500.

Finalists for 2024 #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards

Breaking barriers in sport 

This category focuses on projects that inspire, provide positive examples of empowerment and serve as role models for groups with fewer opportunities.

The finalists are

•    Asociata FDP-Protagonisti in educatie, Romania, SportMEup - Facilitating access to sport activities for vulnerable children to promote social inclusion
•    Andromeda Fitness Lounge, Italy, Goal – Get out after learning: Empowering Juvenile Detainees through Powerlifting and Vocational Training for Successful Reintegration
•    Bushido, Poland, Karate in Europe - development, experience, diversity and integration

Promoting gender equality in sport “Be Equal”

This category recognises projects that empower women and girls through sport.

The finalists are

•    EuroHockey, Belgium, Equally Amazing Gender Balance Charter, Campaign and Impact
•    Futbol Mas France, France, District Spot: Empowering Girls in and through Sport
•    Dragones de Lavapiès, Spain, Dragonas Redefining Access through Gender-Inclusive Opportunities And Neighborhood Spaces (DRAGONAS)

Sport for peace 

This category is for projects which use sport as a vehicle for the promotion of peace and European values.

The finalists are

•    Futbol Masespana, Spain, SPRING 2.0-STIR: Sport4Development as a Tool for the Inclusion of Refugees
•    Association UCPA Sport Loisirs, France, RESTART: refugee inclusion through sport
•    Lietuvos Etnosporto Komitetas (LEK), Lithuania, Fate of a Sport


The European Commission will announce winners and hand out the awards on 12 May 2025 in Brussels, Belgium.  

Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, Glenn Micallef, will open the event.
