European Week of Sport partners: European mountaineers take #BeActive to 10 peaks

The European Week of Sport’s #BeActive message has reached new heights. Members of the European Mountaineering Association (EUMA) climbed 10 European peaks to plant #BeActive flags and celebrate the power of partnership in action.

As part of the European Week of Sport, groups of mountaineers have unfurled #BeActive flags on the peaks of 10 European mountains in a bold display of energy, teamwork, and passion for sport.

Under the “10 Peaks-10 Flags” challenge, organised by the European Mountaineering Association (EUMA), the mountaineers climbed a total of over 15,000 meters in elevation. That’s three times the height of Mont Blanc (4,808 m), Europe’s highest summit.

The photos and videos shared on Instagram and Facebook captured both the thrill of the climb and the heart of the #BeActive movement - celebrating movement, resilience, and collaboration.

Partnership in action

This was EUMA’s first action since joining the European Week of Sport network as a partner in 2025. The association is one of five new partners welcomed this year at the official opening ceremony in Copenhagen.

Since its early days until this year’s celebration of the 10th anniversary, the success of the European Week of Sport and the #BeActive campaign’s real spark comes from working hand in hand with people and organisations who make it happen - national coordinators and partners.

Together they bring their own expertise, networks, and creativity by turning ideas into actions and helping the #BeActive message connect with people and communities across Europe year-round.
