Highlights from the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day
On 11 December 2025, the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) invited the sport community to the annual Erasmus+ Sport Info Day. Around 570 participants attended in person, with over 6,000 connecting online.
The event unveiled exciting opportunities for potential applicants, highlighting key policy priorities as well as the main aspects and novelties of the 2026 Erasmus+ Sport calls for proposals.
Attendees also had a chance to network and forge partnerships for impactful projects.
Sophie Beernaerts, Director of EACEA, addressed sport stakeholders and moderated a panel discussion with Commissioner Glenn Micallef, Member of the European Parliament Bogdan Andrzej Zdrojewski and Acting Director of Cyprus Sport Organisation Vassos Koutsioundas.
The panel provided more insights into the Commission’s proposal for the new Erasmus+ programme 2028-2034.
In the interactive final session, the Erasmus+ community was asked to give their perspectives on the upcoming Commission Communication "A Strategic Vision for Sport in Europe: Reinforcing the European Sport Model”.
The discussion was based on the preliminary findings of the recently closed public consultation. The dialogue emphasised key areas for development, including volunteering, good governance, social inclusion, accessibility, and gender equality.
Georg Häusler, Director for Culture, Creativity and Sport at DG EAC, provided the closing remarks.
