Description of initiative
In Spain and Galicia, we have observed with concern the increase in sedentary lifestyle, obesity, arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes, which increases by age group in adults from 18 years of age to over 80.
The burden of of people living with disability increases with age and it is essential to develop a cardiovascular health promotion program in all age groups.
Balanced diet
It is about establishing a balanced diet program and approach to lifestyles that avoids the cardiovascular consequences of the population of Ferrol (65,000 inhabitants), in Galicia, north western Spain.
Likewise, a health promotion project will be developed in schools, where boys and girls will be health agents in their environment.
We will collaborate with the scientific society of primary care SEMERGEN and the cardiology service of the Ferrol University Hospital.
