EU Sport Forum 2023: a success story
This years’ EU Sport Forum took place in Stockholm on 2 and 3 May and gathered over 350 participants.

Representatives from public policy, EU institutions, sport stakeholders and other experts shared their views on current challenges and opportunities in the sport field during high level group discussions, panels, and interactive sessions.
This year, the dialogue was structured around the key topics of gender equality, integrity in sport, good governance, and athletes’ rights.
Keynote speakers
Keynote speakers at this edition were
- Catherine Chabaud, Member of the European Parliament
- Philipp Lahm and Célia Šašić, respectively Tournament Director and Ambassador of the Organising Committee of the UEFA Euro 2024
Parallel sessions
Parallel sessions addressed topics such as
- the sustainability of sport events in Europe
- the role of sport for physical and mental health
- athletes’ skills and dual careers
- inclusion
- youth participation
The European Commission also presented its initiatives in the field of sport, Erasmus+ programmes and funding opportunities.
#BeInclusive EU Sport Awards ceremony
One novelty of this year’s forum was the #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards ceremony.
Viviane Hoffmann, Deputy Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture and three special guests announced the winners of the competition.
