Description of pledge activities

The European Commission will promote healthy lifestyles in schools by highlighting the importance of physical activity and sport for a healthy development and for boosting the learning process. Additionally, the Commission will address mental health and socio-emotional wellbeing at school.

Expected measurable outcome

The objective is to achieve better educational outcomes for young Europeans. The promotion of physical and mental wellbeing will be included in the proposed Recommendations on blended learning and pathways to school success (first semester 2022). The topic will be debated in the Expert group on well-being at school. Visibility will be also enhanced via the School Education Gateway platform.
