For the 2024 edition of the European Week of Sport, thousands of events took place in nearly 40 countries.
Citizens of all ages and fitness levels were encouraged to try out number of sports and re-discover their favourite activities with the support of sport federations, local clubs, schools, health organisations, and National Olympic Committees.
Numerous national #BeActive ambassadors, including Paris 2024 Olympic Games medallists, provided a motivational boost, not only in the online #BeActive campaign but also at several flagship events.
2023
The ninth edition of the European Week of Sport perfectly embodied the values promoted by the European Union, offering an inclusive, innovative and engaging stage.
It saw more than 11 million participants united in more than 37,000 events held across Europe, involving 40 participating countries.
2022
The eighth edition of the European Week of Sport saw many fun, creative and inclusive events happening all over Europe and beyond.
National Coordinating Bodies and partners organised more than 32,000 events in 40 countries and regions, accumulating more than 13 million participants.
2021
The 2021 edition of the European Week of Sport was notable for organisers tapping into a deep well of creativity to encourage people to take part, with countless activities in various locations.
2020
The 2020 European Week of Sport was very different due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Over nine million people were reached via Facebook and Instagram, with many more viewing Week of Sport videos, feeds and articles via Twitter. Millions of people across the globe tuned in to events, workshops and activities. Despite the coronavirus restrictions, people continued to find new ways to #BeActive.
