Director-General Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen announced the winners of the 2024 #BeActive Awards at the annual gala in Brussels on 26 November.

Finalists in the ‘Workplace’ category of the #BeActive Awards are encouraging employees to be more active. They create active work environment and promote teamwork through sports.

There are three finalists in the ‘Local Hero’ category of the annual #BeActive Awards. This category recognises individuals who have inspired others, through their dedication, to be active.

The #BeActive Awards Across Generations category raises awareness for a healthy lifestyle and easier access to sport at all ages. These projects have broken down barriers between generations to promote physical activity that is accessible to everyone.

The #BeActive Awards Education category highlights how education can encourage children to be active outside of school.

The European Week of Sport (EWoS) is an annual event that encourages citizens across Europe to enjoy a more active lifestyle. For the 2024 edition, thousands of events took place in nearly 40 countries.
